Light is Leading the Way

I've got some messages coming through to me after reading my email from SpaceWeather.com. According to SpaceWeather.com a new sunspot is emerging, we have the biggest and brightest Full Moon of 2009 happening this Sunday (which I just took this photo of) and a comet is doing a flyby, which we may be able to see even without a telescope some time in February (if you have a telescope, you can see it now).

My first thought was that Full Moon ceremony in the Ojibwe tradition is about letting go, completing a cycle, gathering the women, celebrating our light and connection to Grandmother Moon and each other as women, and honouring our water.

What is coming to me now is that this particular Full Moon in January 2009 is about renewal. It's about letting go of the last vestiges of whatever it is that may still be holding us back from being fully true to ourselves, fully connected to Source/All That Is, fully connected to our own spirit.

Lightworkers (healers, psychics, sensitives etc.) have been experiencing this renewal process intensely on many levels, as Mother Earth is undergoing a powerful transformation. 2008 was an intense, challenging year for many of us, because anything we've repressed or ignored began coming up for us. This can manifest as extremely unpleasant situations, dis-ease or any array of things orchestrated on our behalf to make us downright angry or depressed. All the emotions being loosened and brought up need to be released from our energy field.

Not an easy task, emotional release. There can be years of layers of emotional trauma hiding away from our consciousness and bringing it up can cause more pain temporarily. But there is so much hope on this front.

With this being the brightest, biggest Full Moon of the year, we are being given a final chance to let go of old negative self-limiting habits, ideas, thoughts, feelings before we turn our full attention on this New Earth Energy.

I encourage you to find a special way to celebrate yourself, how far you've come, what you really love about yourself, all you are grateful for, during this Full Moon period.

It doesn't matter who you are. If you are human, you are nearly completely made of water, which means you're affected by the pull of the Full Moon. Grandmother Moon has come this close to Mother Earth to allow all of us, no matter where we are at in our personal development, to connect and allow Her to pull away what we no longer need.

Along with the Full Moon has come a sunspot. Interesting how a little darkness is so noticeable on such a bright star, isn't it? As we shine our lights more brightly, the stuff we need to release becomes more visible and clear to us.

It is very important now to notice what is coming up to be released and allow it to be pulled away from our energy fields. This is how we will be able to hold more light and be more attuned to the New Earth Energy.

Notice when you feel angry or upset. Be silent in and with yourself for a few moments when these feelings come up or when outside situations and people seem to be "getting in your way" or "making you feel bad." These people and situations are simply messengers, bringing to the light unresolved energies to which you are still attached.

It would appear that the comet has come in conjunction with this Full Moon to show us there is a light leading the way. It will continue its journey close to Earth into February. Once we let go of enough of what no longer serves us to feel some palpable relief, we can look forward to those empty spaces within us to be filled up with Light. That means more joy, happiness, "lightness", "enlightenment" and many of us will be glowing from the inside out.

Expressions of Gratitude & Amazement

Over the past 5 or 6 days, my life has been magical. Okay, I just checked my last blog and realized that it's been since November 17th, so actually 9 days! Wow!

Something inexplicable has occurred to propel me forward in a subtle yet powerful way.

Maybe it was the completion of the 42 days of cultivating gratitude at the World Gratitude Forum. Maybe it was that I did a lot of healing work for people in a short time. Maybe it was from reading Julia Rogers-Hamrick's daiy Easy World Power Thought every morning. Or maybe it was that I just gathered enough momentum from all the self-growth I've been doing.

Honestly, I think it was all of the above. The more I focus on cultivating gratitude and creating the life I want for myself, the more it happens. The more I allow Source energy / life force to flow through me, the more alive I feel and the more joy I experience.

Whatever happened, 9 days ago my reality changed for the better. It's not that I haven't had this happen for me before. But I've learned that when I celebrate the little things as well as the big things in my life that I appreciate, I open the door for more.

I just looked back at my gratitude list/journal for the past 9 days and beyond, and it's really quite amazing all I've accomplished and all I've been grateful for. In the midst of some pretty unpleasant stuff, I've been able to keep my main focus on things like sunlit snowy branches and giggles with my daughter.

The interesting thing is, the unpleasant stuff is diminishing and I find myself smiling all the time. And there is this amazing feeling I can hardly explain, if at all, that Abraham-Hicks describes as something like "experiencing the power that creates worlds." I'll give you an example.

Today in the recording studio, I was working on one of my favorite contemporary tunes, a sort of gospel-influenced acoustic number about being in the flow of Source energy. When it was time for me to record my more freestyle wailing parts for the song, something inside me just opened up. I was able to do some blues riffs with my voice that I've never done before, my voice picked up extra energy from somewhere and my inner experience was - well, it was light and lightness.

Yes, indescribable, truly - but I can't resist the desire to share it with you! I could feel a living energy rising from inside my solar plexus, like liquid light, rising up and out of my mouth in the form of sound. An amazing feeling. It was a feeling of total connectedness with Creator and my spirit, like a merging of all of me and All That Is, and a vocal expression of that connection.

The thing is, why I'm sharing this is because I know everyone can achieve this state! We all have special talents even if they are still hidden from our consciousness. And when we align with our true being, these talents spill out joyfully into the world. It's like a circular chain reaction. Our joyful self-expression creates more joy in us and around us and the joy continues to grow and spread.

I don't think I've experienced this quite the same for so long before. I do remember writing in my diary quite a few years ago about having a similar experience during a walk, but it sure didn't last for days on end!

So I want to end this with absolute gratitude, joy and a serenity that spreads into a wide smile and light in my eyes, hopefully to be reflected in your eyes and even further.

Are You Ready to Celebrate?

Summer is gone, for students and stay or work-at-home parents, but Fall promises to be a time of celebration. But what on Earth would you celebrate?

Traditionally, Fall Equinox is a time of celebration for the harvest. Symbolically, that means it's a time to celebrate all our achievements, and all the desires we've been able to bring into reality.

In other words, right now is still a window of opportunity. When Fall Equinox comes around, what do you want to celebrate? What desires do you want to see fulfilled?

I've already been given a gift from the Universe, an unfolding manifestation of something I've wanted for a long while - and it's a pretty tall order. Receiving this gift - and the fact that I saw it, picked it up and am about to completely accept it - tells me that I'm on my path.

Sometimes when the Universe hands us a gift, we're so caught up in other things that we don't even see it for what it is, much less pick it up and say YES and Thank You! Well, this time I am saying a great big YES and a huge THANK YOU for this gift and I know it will propel me forward.

You'll have to wait until I have sealed the deal, so to speak, before I say what that gift is, but it's something that promises to propel me forward with all my goals, hopes and dreams for my career and life.

I'm writing this with tears of overwhelming gratitude as I ready myself to move forward at lightning speed toward transformation, light and a heightened ability to share my gifts of healing and music with more and more people. And that is just what I've been asking for.

I've heard from several sources - and received my own personal message from Spirit - that clarity is just around the corner. Also, this Fall is going to really deliver BIG on what we've been intending to manifest.

Another message is coming through as I write this. I see that when September 15th brings us the Harvest Full Moon, it will be like this:



Imagine all your prevalent thoughts, intentions, desires and feelings swirling clockwise, slowly around the widest edge of a funnel - not a tornado - imagine one of those funnels you use for cooking something, or imagine how the water goes down the drain in your bathtub when you release the plug... except what's going into the drain is positive, empowering and transformational.

Envision all those thoughts, feelings, intentions and desires spiraling and being pulled inward and down into the bottom point of the funnel, where it is all focused into something beautiful and remarkable for you, that will inspire you to actions you hadn't thought of before. This feels like what the Equinox will bring (September 22nd).

From what feels like September 22nd through October and into early November - this beautiful and remarkable gift will be released through that bottom hole into your reality. And it will inspire you to take actions you wouldn't have thought of. And these actions will take you very quickly into a place in yourself that is closer than ever before to what you truly want for your life. That's what I see happening for the Fall. The trick is to go with it, instead of resisting as many of us usually do.

And then this winter feels like it will be a true time of regeneration - something like what's happening right now for many of us - where we'll need to recuperate, slow down and come into acceptance of the great changes that have happened for us. But it will be longer than this short period is right now. This mirrors the season of winter, and if you can go with it, it can bring you much inspiration. And this winter in particular will be a time to begin to integrate our own transformations into our bodies and our lives.

I've been out of sorts for a little while and when I got my latest alert from whatsuponplanetearth.com, I read that we're in a sort of downtime phase of preparation. Reading these alerts always gives me confirmations and new understandings about what I'm experiencing. And then I can relax knowing what to expect (she has such accuracy!), which makes transitions much easier on me.

Since I read that alert and relaxed into what's happening, my healing gifts have begun a process of being enhanced again. How do I know this?

1. Since a few days ago, my hands have been giving off heat and healing energy constantly instead of just when I do a healing session

2. With my physical eyes (open), I'm now able to see orbs and the thick, pulsating, multidimensional field of life force surrounding us - it's hard to describe but I can see how nonphysical everything really is and how nothing is truly separate. I know that that's a paradox since quantum physics say that nothing is truly touching anything else, but it's the energy in between that connects us. It's like connective tissue that binds everything in the universe together.

3. Yesterday after I did a healing session, I got a healing of my own from Spirit. I could feel a surge of energy go through me from top to bottom and out through my feet.

4. I have a feeling I'm being worked on energetically.

5. I've also gotten the clear message that I am to begin giving readings soon as part of the work I do. I know I need further preparation and clarification before I do this but I sense that I'll be ready within a few weeks.

6. Another gift coming through is the ability to articulate what the wind and Spirit are telling me, and the visions I see, about what's happening in the universe, into a coherent description - like this blog today.

Right now is really a time to allow yourself to find your way back into alignment with your original purpose, and if you're already there, then it's time to integrate it more fully into your life. Many are feeling that urgency or a feeling of things being 'not quite right' and a need to know why. The thing is, we don't need to know the "why" or the "how".

It's funny... I've been hoping for the inspiration to write in this blog for about a week but nothing was coming to me. I was sort of frustrated about it but I knew it was to do with this time of preparation, so I just waited and trusted when the time is right, something will come.

Every time I remind myself that I don't need to know why or how things will happen or work out, and I consciously bring myself back into a feeling of gratitude or even just relief, miracles happen. And this Fall is going to bring plenty of miracles.

So get ready to celebrate!

Water Medicine

WOW!!! I was just sitting here typing and saw something in the sky from my window in front of me here in my home office. I could not believe my eyes! It was a Great Blue Heron soaring gracefully.

That's a first! I've seen them down by the water but only once been surprised by a visit, and that was on Thunder Mountain when my friend, my daughter and I were on our way to a very special lake up on the mountain. The heron was right in our path, confirming for me that it was good medicine, the ceremony we were about to do.

Today though, seeing that blue heron brings me back into the studio last night, with percussionist Derek Thorne and bass player Dennis Mohammed. Derek was using a beautiful set of congas. I asked him what the hide was on top and he said probably steer for one of them. But then he pointed to the other, and he said it was from a Water Buffalo.

If you know me personally, or you've come to a performance or workshop of mine, you'll know that water is very important to me. I have a song "Water From the Sky" that brings rain for healing, that I channeled instantly as I stood in the pouring rain on purpose to heal my headache just before I left for Thunder Mountain. I have another water song called "Crystal Clear" that will be on my next album and it also came instantly when I was performing at a spiritual gathering.

I always talk about being thankful for your water, how that feeling of gratitude can actually change the physical properties of the water, and even create healing water.

Well, last night when Derek was drumming his heart out on those congas, I felt tears of gratitude welling up in my eyes at the thought of having water medicine - that water buffalo spirit - on this album. And now this blue heron shows up. What are the odds that I'd be sitting here at my desk at the exact time that waterbird flew over my rooftop?

Nothing is a coincidence. And I can see a crystalline thread weaving together several occurrences, a sudden spontaneous chain of insights this afternoon that I felt driven to share with you here.

It also brings me back to think about how as soon as I left the studio yesterday to get us lunch, it began to rain and continued even as the sun shone the entire way to my destination. And that lead me to think about how we've had perhaps the most rain and thunder ever in a summer here in Toronto.

Do you see? Ever since I started to work on this CD after a5 month hiatus, I've been surrounded by water medicine. In the Anishnabe (Ojibwe) culture, the elders are always saying that water is the first medicine. During childbirth, the water comes first. At our full moon ceremonies, water is honoured.

We know water is a direct representation of the divine feminine principle. Water is about receptivity, flowing emotion, movement and giving birth. It's about finding clarity, being refreshed with new energy, allowing yourself to receive the blessings you give birth to - not just babies, but new desires, creations, manifesfations.

Right now I'm feeling overwhelming gratitude for the medicine of water, and I'm realizing that this CD called Medicine Song that I'm working on is going to be overflowing with water medicine. Even the location of the studio... right down by the waterfront. What a blessing.

Another insight occurs to me. Of course we would need more rain, more snow, more water right now. Mother Earth is in a healing and cleansing time. Water naturally moves energy. And we all need to be drinking more water as a result of these new energies flowing into and around our Mother Earth.

So this is what that great blue heron reminds me of today, and as I type this, I can see we are indeed going to get more water again today, as blue-grey clouds move together above me and the dance of the maple leaves shifts and changes every few moments.

Do you know what I'm going to say next?

Drink some water... but before you do, please feel gratitude in your heart and offer that gratitude to your water. And guess what? It has just started to rain.
