Return of the Light

Above is a photo I took of my daughter sledding. Whenever she is laughing, spirit orbs come and delight in her laughter. An abundance of orbs showed up, so much so that you can see some of them bright and clear without sizing up the picture!

Today the sun was showing off in a bright blue sky as if to say "Here comes the light!" On the darkest night of the year here in Toronto Canada, I wish you a Joyful Solstice and beautiful new beginnings for 2009!

As I sent greetings to my myspace friends, it struck me that this will be a Winter Solstice not to be forgotten and I was compelled to write what came to me. This time of year is about the return of the light... the sunlight plus a plethora of meaningful sparks of light depending on your traditions. But tomorrow is a signpost of more light to come, as well as a landmark to say just how far we have already come.

Amazing things are happening. Terrible things are happening. But most importantly, we are truly beginning again as a people. We as a human race - and as individuals - have reached many milestones along the way and have many more to come, but I want to take a moment to recognize how far we all have come, no matter who you are.

We may have had - and still be having - seemingly insurmountable challenges. Some of us have gone through very dark moments or might still be living a dark moment right now. This is all part of the return of the light.

Not only is Mother Earth at the end of a season and beginning of another but we are also at the end of a very long season and entering a new way of living.

Change is uncomfortable for most of us. We feel our foundations crumbling underneath our feet. Nothing seems to work any more. People we love have walked away, or we have walked away from them. The economy - especially courtesy of media hype - seems to point to disaster, while strange climate aberrations abound. But there is so much hope now.

Light truly is coming, and becoming more and more powerful.

For the light to return to us, we need to keep the inner fire burning. I'm talking about our connection to our own spirit - to who we truly are. It is more important than ever to be true to who you are. As we are becoming more and more en-light-ened, letting go of what holds us down is a natural part of this process. If you feel like you're in a tailspin, just let go. It is time to allow your highest good to come to be. The more you can let go of the need to control your outcomes, the easier and more beautiful your transformation will be.

I'm speaking from experience here. In my reality, things are far from where I want them to be... but I have learned that when I am able to pause long enough to step outside of my stressed out ego, I can then let go more easily. And when I let go more easily of old behaviours, beliefs and thoughts, I experience miracles. Take last night for example.

I sang at a benefit just as our worst blizzard this year was dying down. We were under a foot of snow by then, with dangerous driving conditions and delays everywhere. And yet... the organization raised the most they've ever raised for Anduhyaun Native women's and children's shelter.

The turnout was just wonderful and a sense of openness, love and compassion filled the room as people came in and started dancing. Even after huffing and puffing through the snowstorm with sore muscles and a migraine leftover, waiting several minutes for the bus, and forgetting my water, when I sang, my voice was crystal clear and people's grateful comments let me know they experienced healing and spirit connection through the sharing of my gifts.

Any time things seem to be going horribly, we have an opportunity to do or say something that makes us feel joy, lightness and gratitude. We all have choice.

We can choose to transform anything in our lives into light. We can choose to pause for a moment before we say or do something hurtful. We can choose to pay deep attention and respect to our loved ones and really connect on a deep level, from spirit to spirit.

We can choose to be light and in so choosing, we feel physically lighter. We can choose to open our hearts and minds in any situation. And we can choose to be in the company of those whose shining light ignites our own.

My hope for you at this time is that you feel your inner light shining so brightly that you burst into the widest smile, you feel the warmth growing from within you and that suddenly all that is good turns its attention to you, flooding you with even more love and joy that you then radiate outward.

Synchronicity & Healing

I just love synchronicities. This one just stopped me in my tracks with my jaw dropped, literally. Check this out...

I'm surfing on myspace and I just opened a second page in a different window to see someone's profile. I'm also listening to my favorite positive reggae radio station using winamp.

All of a sudden the second profile's music player starts up - but I thought it was some ambient singing from the reggae radio station. What are the odds that the two songs would completely mesh???

The David Bowie song on the myspace profile was in exactly the same tempo as the reggae song. That in itself is amazing! Well, that's not all. The songs stayed in the exact same KEY as well! The chords were all working together and it sounded like this amazing reggae song with David Bowie wailing over it. Even Bowie's vocals were coming in at appropriate musical moments for the reggae song!

I only write in this blog when I feel inspired and passionate about doing it, and it's always moments like these that get me inspired.

How are you handling all the immense changes?

The past few weeks have been about re-integration, not just for me but globally. A lot is happening worldwide and if we can go above the physical appearances of things, we can begin to notice what else is going on and get through things much more easily.

How I've experienced re-integration is in a few waves. I had a wave of uncertainty and a sort of displaced sense of unfounded fear for about a week. I had to focus carefully on positive thoughts to feel okay. Everything felt like it was falling apart for me once more - not a pretty feeling.

After that, I spent some time for about a week doing much less than usual, to allow an energy healing to take place for me. I could feel a sweet, gentle presence and cool breeze, definitely female and very caring, working on a certain area of my energy system several times a day. This spirit helper continued working on me for that week, especially whenever I felt overwhelmed or sore or anxious. Thankfully I was already in a state of allowing, so I relaxed into it every time.

One morning as I sat here working, I realized I hadn't felt her presence, and I missed it. She did come to help me two more times, and then she left. I don't think she's really gone though - it feels like she's still watching over me. I am so grateful for her presence and her assistance. While she was working on me, I would feel that cool breeze, a sense of inner warmth and caring, and the area she was working on would tingle until she was done. It was like I could feel her smiling.

A few days later, I began to notice my knees and feet were cracking as I walked, which I now know from experience is about "moving forward". But this time it is different.

What I have noticed more and more is that my whole body has been creaking and cracking, but not necessarily hurting... ever since that energy healing happened. I realized just about a week ago that my body is simply adjusting to the energy work done on me, as well as to the new energies brought in to Mother Earth.

An amazing gift that has come to me during the same time, is that I can suddenly heal my own headaches within minutes or sometimes even seconds of them appearing. I've had headaches and migraines all my life and now I seem to be able to just make them go away with my mind! I really didn't think it would be possible, because usually the pain is so severe or longlasting that I can't even focus on anything. But it is. It's happening!

It's difficult to explain how I do it but it has to do with focusing on the actual pain and getting my consciousness inside the pain, pinpointing it with my 3rd eye. I promise when I figure out how to teach it, I will share that with you. It's been life-changing for me, because now when I get a headache, instead of losing a whole day or week over it, I feel fantastic!

Back in March 2008 when I "gave up" and asked Source what the heck I was supposed to be doing, I learned an important lesson.

When faced with adversity, get into a mode of observing things, just noticing them without judgment. And when you get into a space of not knowing what to do or where to turn, connect with your spirit and ASK Source for help! And... accept that you are where you are and know that even if things seem awful, you still have control over how you choose to respond. In the response of acceptance, calm observation, spirit connection and openness, amazing things can happen! And you will feel better even just trying.

I've also received a lot of inspirations and will be offering new services for 2009. I'll share more about these as I develop them. My album is coming along beautifully and I hope to have that officially released by June 2009.

Expressions of Gratitude & Amazement

Over the past 5 or 6 days, my life has been magical. Okay, I just checked my last blog and realized that it's been since November 17th, so actually 9 days! Wow!

Something inexplicable has occurred to propel me forward in a subtle yet powerful way.

Maybe it was the completion of the 42 days of cultivating gratitude at the World Gratitude Forum. Maybe it was that I did a lot of healing work for people in a short time. Maybe it was from reading Julia Rogers-Hamrick's daiy Easy World Power Thought every morning. Or maybe it was that I just gathered enough momentum from all the self-growth I've been doing.

Honestly, I think it was all of the above. The more I focus on cultivating gratitude and creating the life I want for myself, the more it happens. The more I allow Source energy / life force to flow through me, the more alive I feel and the more joy I experience.

Whatever happened, 9 days ago my reality changed for the better. It's not that I haven't had this happen for me before. But I've learned that when I celebrate the little things as well as the big things in my life that I appreciate, I open the door for more.

I just looked back at my gratitude list/journal for the past 9 days and beyond, and it's really quite amazing all I've accomplished and all I've been grateful for. In the midst of some pretty unpleasant stuff, I've been able to keep my main focus on things like sunlit snowy branches and giggles with my daughter.

The interesting thing is, the unpleasant stuff is diminishing and I find myself smiling all the time. And there is this amazing feeling I can hardly explain, if at all, that Abraham-Hicks describes as something like "experiencing the power that creates worlds." I'll give you an example.

Today in the recording studio, I was working on one of my favorite contemporary tunes, a sort of gospel-influenced acoustic number about being in the flow of Source energy. When it was time for me to record my more freestyle wailing parts for the song, something inside me just opened up. I was able to do some blues riffs with my voice that I've never done before, my voice picked up extra energy from somewhere and my inner experience was - well, it was light and lightness.

Yes, indescribable, truly - but I can't resist the desire to share it with you! I could feel a living energy rising from inside my solar plexus, like liquid light, rising up and out of my mouth in the form of sound. An amazing feeling. It was a feeling of total connectedness with Creator and my spirit, like a merging of all of me and All That Is, and a vocal expression of that connection.

The thing is, why I'm sharing this is because I know everyone can achieve this state! We all have special talents even if they are still hidden from our consciousness. And when we align with our true being, these talents spill out joyfully into the world. It's like a circular chain reaction. Our joyful self-expression creates more joy in us and around us and the joy continues to grow and spread.

I don't think I've experienced this quite the same for so long before. I do remember writing in my diary quite a few years ago about having a similar experience during a walk, but it sure didn't last for days on end!

So I want to end this with absolute gratitude, joy and a serenity that spreads into a wide smile and light in my eyes, hopefully to be reflected in your eyes and even further.

Struck by Nature's Beauty

Have you ever been suddenly struck by the beauty of something created by Nature? The picture above doesn't do the real scene I observed justice at all, but I wanted to share with you what I saw...

I'm sitting here in my home office, looked out the window and was left speechless and motionless for a few moments as tears came to my eyes. Why?

We got quite a bit of snow yesterday and overnight, pretty much a blizzard or what the weather people refer to as a snow squall. But now, outside my window is a scene I wish my windows outside were clean enough to take a picture of.

I see a perfectly blue sky with a couple of tiny wispy clouds floating into view. To the left of that, the tops of two huge maple trees with just a few leaves clinging to the last bit of summer.

Branches in the top left corner of my window are coated in sunlit snow and I can't even put to words the true miracle of beauty I am witnessing. If you're a photographer even as hobby, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. It's just one of those "kodak moments", undeniably.

The past 3 days have been filled with miracles for me, and this is one more to add to my absolute delight.

Do you ever stop in the middle of the sidewalk and look up to see what's there? Can you hear the birdsong over the traffic? When my daughter was just 3 years old, she taught me to do this and now I do it all the time.

On many clear days, when there are just enough ice crystals and water vapour in the stratosphere, I see rainbows around the sun. I've even seen a triple one twice! I get to catch sight of a rainbow seconds after the rainfall. I'm the one walking in the rain with a smile. Why?

I have been looking up at the sky, listening to the sounds of nature even in the noisy city of Toronto, and looking at the ground with such great interest and intrigue that I can't help but know what will cause a rainbow and where to look. And I swear, sometimes Source just gifts me with a perfect picture such as this one. The moment is over for the glistening trees but it inspired me to write this so I can share with you the sheer glee we call can feel if we allow it.

Overwhelming waves of gratitude are washing over me now, just because I took a few moments out of my busy day to appreciate the glimpse of remarkable beauty that Nature has offered me.

Yes, now I'm ready to go give that Medicine Song Circle, offering traditional Aboriginal healing and and interactive drumming/singing/sharing circle to the community that has supported me for so many years now.

I can feel the life force coursing through me - and that is a magical feeling I will now carry into my healing work today.

11/11 Gateway to Truth

If you're reading this, you probably feel or know a special significance to the number 1111. It is a gateway, to remind us to plug in to our spirit and believe that anything is possible. We can use it reach a connection with our true being and bring ourselves more into alignment with a fuller Self-expression.

I took this photo on the plane en route to Penticton, BC. Orbs are fascinating to me, and out of about 200 pictures I took from the plane, this is one of the few that shows any orbs. They remind me that energy is everywhere, all the time, and I also have learned that they only seem to show up at times when there is great joy and especially laughter. In other words... higher frequency energy.

Some are saying this 11/11 - November 11th, 2008 - holds further significance and is directly related to 8/8/8 - August 8th, 2008.

We keep getting so many wonderful influxes of new energy to help us in this global reality shift, so this doesn't surprise me. Also, I had written a recent Spirit-guided (the words came through my crown chakra like my songs do) blog entry that something big and positive was coming for us all between the beginning of Fall and early November. I later felt that by mid-November, we would be in the midst of it.

Because I don't watch the news or follow politics - and I'm Canadian - I didn't know when the American election was or anything much about the candidates, until an email list I'm on started generating a lot of hype about it in late October. Then I started paying a bit of attention.

When Barack Obama was elected president of the United States of America, I could physically feel the high frequency energy - the love and gratitude - of huge numbers of people radiating throughout the universal energy field. I asked my higher consciousness if this election was the 'big happening' I had written about, and the answer was yes.

I wrote in my private journal about it and right afterward, had the feeling that this was only a part of it. I can see that November 11th is also a part of this 'big happening'.

I would suggest that the window of time between now and November 11th will be a most amazing time to let go of lingering negative messages, self-doubt, fear, anger, or any self-limiting beliefs you may still hold. And from November 11th to 15th, focus on embracing your spirit... who you truly are. Do something that brings you joy! Think about all you're grateful for. Fill yourself with gratitude and love.

There are so many ways to meditate and perhaps in your area, there might even be a meditation group for this special time, but I do encourage you to connect in your own way at these times, or just any time you remember to, throughout the day.

Spiritual Lessons from a Kettle & a Grocery Store

Did you know that when your kettle is plugged in, but turned off, it's still tapped into the electrical current through its connection to the outlet?

A seemingly random question but keep it in mind for a moment.

I've been feeling sort of flat, levelled off, just kind of... here. It occurred to me when I was standing in the kitchen a moment ago that I've been feeling like a kettle that's plugged in but not turned on.

Check this out...

You know when you feel really drained and like things just aren't working out? That happens to us human beings when we are unplugged - from our spirit and Source/Creator/God. Not a great feeling, right?

Now imagine this...

You go to a retreat, or a great concert... or you do something else that just makes you feel amazing. How do you feel now? Don't you feel like that kettle after the switch is turned on? Bubbling up with energy? Don't you feel warm and like you're even heating up deep inside?

Well, I've been feeling like I'm somewhere in between. I have been feeling connected to my spirit for the past couple of weeks but I still felt like my light wasn't on - except for a few bursts of energy in between. It's been challenging for me to stay consistently positive and motivated.

That's what I mean about the kettle. It's like I was plugged into Source - and I do most often feel that connection - and yet, I couldn't find the ON switch to really shine.

I've been feeling like "What's next?" It's as if I've been standing in that one lineup at the grocery store. You know the one... it seems like the shortest but ends up being the longest. Finally you move to another one, thinking it will be quicker but the second you switch to that lineup, it stops moving and the checkout clerk calls for a price check. And then the line-up you left begins to move, right?

I think that's what happens to us sometimes... we get impatient and just when things are about to move, we look for another solution. You know what that is? It's us trying to take control of the flow of life force. And we can't. Not from that standpoint anyway.

Sometimes the best option is to just be... wherever you are on your journey. Just be. Sometimes energy needs to be released for us to get switched back on. Sometimes what we're waiting for really is just right around the corner, if only we could sit in acceptance long enough to catch our breath before the real ride begins!

Maybe all my energy was being stored up for the last 3 conferences I performed and spoke at. Or maybe Creator was putting together a special package for me and I needed to slow down to allow its creation... and to notice it when it comes!

Anyway, my switch has been turned back on, so to speak. Right after I got a call from a new healing client, I felt the wonderful familiar sensation of exuberant life force surging through my whole being. I LOVE that feeling and I know it can only happen when I'm plugged into Source and my spirit, which is the natural electrical pathway/circuit for human beings... but it's more than just having that connection.

You have to switch on the kettle to get the water to boil. You have to feel that connection to Source and your spirit.

And even if you know the connection is there - you have to activate the circuit between you, your spirit and Source. The switch needs to be turned on. And you do that by bringing joy, love, laughter, excitement and passion into your life... and sometimes by just waiting, listening within and letting yourself feel that connection as it arrives.

It's interesting that I was just on a teleclass by spiritual author Julia Rogers-Hamrick a couple of nights ago and now I feel the energy flowing like this. Not a coincidence.

In her teleclasses, Julia always leads us first in a guided meditation on "radiating love", which is so simple and so powerful. And now I can feel that I'm radiating love automatically! I encourage you to try it out. Julia has instructions in her lastest newsletter.

Now I don't want to promote leaving your appliances plugged in, because it actually does waste electricity. But what I will say is this...

Elder and healer Joanne Dallaire once said in a workshop, "Plug in" to your spirit. Julia Rogers-Hamrick said to "radiate love." Once you do those two things, you will feel better right away, plus it will get easier and easier every time.

Gratitude and New Connections

Well, I'm having an interesting day. My printer starting spitting out pages like a wild thing and then my computer froze. After a shutdown there were still issues and now I can't get into the World Gratitude Gathering forum.

This is just plain weird! I feel like I'm being locked right out of my online little world. I do realize Mercury's in retrograde until October 15th, so I guess this is par for the course, but wow...

It's interesting that What's Up On Planet Earth just did an update that says it's time for everything new, as the old falls away (I'm paraphrasing here). Maybe the energies are clashing. Well, that's the story I'm going with for now.

Well, for the moment, Blogger is still working, thankfully, so before anything else goes whacko on my computer, I'm posting my gratitude list for the end of this day!

Tonight I am grateful for...

1. The opportunity to leave the city for 2 days
2. My manager's creativity and support
3. My daughter's undying patience with me
4. My friend who trades off childcare with me
5. The printing I already did before my printer crashed
6. My sanity... althought that's questionable at the moment ;)

Water Spirit Woman of the Star Beings

I often feel like I'm writing a script for a fantasy movie when I write about my personal experiences, because so much of it is surreal.

About a week ago, for a grant proposal, I did a sketch of a spirit woman. Then I did a second, cleaner sketch for my proposal, which I liked but noticed the woman now looked too young and not the same. I posted the 2nd drawing in "Finding Perspective".

When I looked yesterday at the original sketch - which is posted right beside this paragraph, I knew she was familiar to me. It's hard for me to comprehend this, but she is a Water Spirit Woman I have connected with before.

A few years ago I was in my basement doing laundry and I heard a crystalline voice call out to me. The hair stood up on my neck instantly and I felt a surge of energy go right up my spine. It was a woman's voice but ethereal... it sounded like light, is the only way I can describe it.

Not long after that, I connected with that woman and some of her relatives in two different dreams. They are Water People. In the first dream I saw them coming out of the water. They were sick from the polluted water and pleading with me to do something about it. I knew right away it was the same woman with her family.

Several months later, I was invited to a water ceremony at Lake Ontario with Dr. Emoto and several others from my community. I sang a few Water Songs with my drum and there was an Aboriginal water ceremony as well as Dr. Emoto's water ceremony. After we were all done, that Water Spirit Woman came out of the water and she was smiling like in the picture here.

Funny thing is, I was going to paint her using this sketch as a guide, but now I don't know if I can capture her essence the way I did in the sketch. Even her eyes were without pupils, just emanating white light. At that ceremony, She telepathically sent me the feeling of gratitude and love that she was feeling.

Anyway, I joined the World Gratitude Gathering just before October 1st, and recently one of the emails I received from the group had a lot of water teachings. That email helped me get the message that my drawing was of this Water Spirit Woman.

I also received the message that She is a Star Being and also Atlantean. She was overseeing my light crystal healing just before 888. She is also connected to the Lemurian seed crystal who works with me in my healing work.

All I can say is this is a powerful connection for me, between water, crystals, light and this spirit helper. I am grateful and anticipating my next visits with these ancient beings who are helping me to increase my vibration so that I can be of service in the best way possible.

Attracting Prosperity - with my Funny Money Tree

Greetings!

Okay, it's not what you might think... I'm not talking about counterfeit here lol. Read on...

I've been having such fun today! I've been dealing with a sinus/ear infection and today I've hardly even noticed it all afternoon. Since I joined the World Gratitude Gathering a couple of days ago, I've been really making sure I'm focusing on my gratitude for the positive things in my life and even visualizing myself drawing health and prosperity to myself.

Today, I suddenly felt inspired to share with you all this little prosperity attracting game that's been helping me for the past month or so.

Sooo.... the game...

I had bought several magnetic hematites for me and my daughter, and she keeps leaving hers in funny places. Then they ended up on my writing desk with many of my stone and crystal friends.

One day a couple of safety pins and some dimes attached themselves in some really weird ways to my own magnetic hematites inside my handbag and when I pulled them out, it looked like a stairway of dimes. I couldn't help but laugh and play with them!

I was so excited, I showed my 11 year-old daughter, who looked at me like I was insane and then laughed too. Well, since she left her hematites on my desk, all stacked up on top of each other, I began sticking money to them.

I had such a blast, I kept doing it and then noticed about a week ago that it looked like a little tree. And then it popped into my head...

I've created a money tree! And yes, this is a picture of my funny little tree.

So every time I look at it, my little money tree makes me smile and because the hematites are magnetic by nature, it sure isn't a far stretch for me to imagine my little money tree attracting money to me! I love it! And hey, now I have something to do with all that small change lol.

I feel like Scrooge McDuck, playing with my money lol. But that's what I do in my spare time. Whenever my money tree catches my eye, I add more dimes or nickels to it, whatever sticks, and it's so fascinating to see how the magnets 'organize' the money. It has to be balanced, you see... just like my budget ;)

You might want to try it yourself - magnetic hematites are very inexpensive at new age shops or bead and rock stores. I got mine at Carrot Common on the Danforth in Toronto when I doing my organic grocery shopping.

Oh, by the way, since I've been playing with my money tree, so many amazing things have begun to happen for me, including attracting new contracts that are a perfect match for me, after a dry spell. So it works! Now, I do use a lot of other tools to attract what I want, like focusing on gratitude, singing my medicine songs, listening to my Spirit Connection guided visualization, even watching my own inspirational videos and reading books by Esther and Jerry Hicks.

But I truly believe in my little money tree. You see... all that small change is creating BIG CHANGE... in more ways than one.

I'm having so much FUN today!

Energizing with Joy - Native Healing Song Video

I'm writing this at midnight, so technically it's September 23rd but earlier on, I channeled two medicine songs wearing my new regalia that I made about a week ago.

Finding Perspective

I took several pictures like this one of the sunrise, from the plane back to Toronto from BC last October. You know I never noticed the orbs in this one until just today?

Funny there aren't any orbs in the other pictures I took seconds before or afterward, but in this one, I can't even count them all. The first time I saw orbs, the skeptic in me was wondering if they were maybe an illusion caused by dust in the camera lens or something.

But now I can see them with my physical eyes with or without my glasses, so I know they're real. They always seem to show up where there are high vibrations like laughter, feelings of gratitude, love, amazement and joy. Here's a closeup.

Apart from the orbs, I just love the way the sunlight created several full spectra.

What interests me most is that each full spectrum is shaped just like the light crystals that were inserted into my energy system just before 08/08/08. What's even more interesting is that I pulled up this photo today - at a time when I can feel my energy shifting and have just had some bursts of inspiration and creativity.

Last week I got what was obviously a channeled message. It flowed out of me almost before the thoughts could form and I couldn't remember what I had written. I only knew it had to do with something big coming for us Earth beings. Anyway, I got tears in my eyes when I read it a few minutes ago, because now I understand what's been happening for me...

Yesterday was interesting. Everything was kind of "off balance" in my little world.

I was getting ready for a day out with my daughter and discovered I had hardly anything to wear. My daughter was coming down with a cold, so I let her sleep in even though the fashion show and our workshop started at 10am. So yeah, I had double-booked myself too!

I had a bizarre thought on the subway...

What if everyone on the subway were to suddenly just do whatever they would normally do when nobody was around?

And I was flooded with images of people dancing to their mp3s, talking to themselves, laughing out loud all by themselves, you get the idea. I shared this with my daughter and we both got laughing so much that we missed our stop.

The day continued like this... I felt like it was nearly impossible to focus, lost my sense of direction completely (not that it was great to begin with lol) and physically could feel my balance was off. I remember the moment it hit me that the Full Harvest Moon is coming up. I let go at that moment, realizing anything could happen, and the rest of the day felt better in all its quirkiness.

And that brings me back to the beginning of my blog when I uploaded that sunrise picture I took on a plane. I have hundreds of photos in about 12 folders on my computer. Coming across that particular photo today has sparked recognition in my spirit. Seeing those rainbow lights and orbs, and the way the photo has captured the motion of light... this is really stirring something in me. I won't be surprised if I have a vision, dream or spiritual moment in the next day or so.

How Spirit does express itself.

When I read through my blog from September 7th, I noticed I had written that the energy of the universe was going to become like a spiraling whirlpool for each of us, focusing all of our desires down through the centre and into our personal reality.

And now here I am getting another message from Spirit, that while this whirlpool of energy is being focused into manifesting our desires, it is also stripping us of anything we still need to release. No wonder last night I did a sketch about letting go, for my grant proposal! Have a look... and tell me what this image says to you.

Anyway, clearly this is a time to sit back and allow old stuff to bubble up and be released from wherever in your energy system you have blockages (chronic pain, depression, illness, etc.). I don't mean for you to consciously try and dredge up old pain, by the way. I mean if stuff does come up for you in the next little while, don't attach to it, and realize this is part of a much bigger process leading to more light for you.... and that light will be coming very soon!

Are You Ready to Celebrate?

Summer is gone, for students and stay or work-at-home parents, but Fall promises to be a time of celebration. But what on Earth would you celebrate?

Traditionally, Fall Equinox is a time of celebration for the harvest. Symbolically, that means it's a time to celebrate all our achievements, and all the desires we've been able to bring into reality.

In other words, right now is still a window of opportunity. When Fall Equinox comes around, what do you want to celebrate? What desires do you want to see fulfilled?

I've already been given a gift from the Universe, an unfolding manifestation of something I've wanted for a long while - and it's a pretty tall order. Receiving this gift - and the fact that I saw it, picked it up and am about to completely accept it - tells me that I'm on my path.

Sometimes when the Universe hands us a gift, we're so caught up in other things that we don't even see it for what it is, much less pick it up and say YES and Thank You! Well, this time I am saying a great big YES and a huge THANK YOU for this gift and I know it will propel me forward.

You'll have to wait until I have sealed the deal, so to speak, before I say what that gift is, but it's something that promises to propel me forward with all my goals, hopes and dreams for my career and life.

I'm writing this with tears of overwhelming gratitude as I ready myself to move forward at lightning speed toward transformation, light and a heightened ability to share my gifts of healing and music with more and more people. And that is just what I've been asking for.

I've heard from several sources - and received my own personal message from Spirit - that clarity is just around the corner. Also, this Fall is going to really deliver BIG on what we've been intending to manifest.

Another message is coming through as I write this. I see that when September 15th brings us the Harvest Full Moon, it will be like this:



Imagine all your prevalent thoughts, intentions, desires and feelings swirling clockwise, slowly around the widest edge of a funnel - not a tornado - imagine one of those funnels you use for cooking something, or imagine how the water goes down the drain in your bathtub when you release the plug... except what's going into the drain is positive, empowering and transformational.

Envision all those thoughts, feelings, intentions and desires spiraling and being pulled inward and down into the bottom point of the funnel, where it is all focused into something beautiful and remarkable for you, that will inspire you to actions you hadn't thought of before. This feels like what the Equinox will bring (September 22nd).

From what feels like September 22nd through October and into early November - this beautiful and remarkable gift will be released through that bottom hole into your reality. And it will inspire you to take actions you wouldn't have thought of. And these actions will take you very quickly into a place in yourself that is closer than ever before to what you truly want for your life. That's what I see happening for the Fall. The trick is to go with it, instead of resisting as many of us usually do.

And then this winter feels like it will be a true time of regeneration - something like what's happening right now for many of us - where we'll need to recuperate, slow down and come into acceptance of the great changes that have happened for us. But it will be longer than this short period is right now. This mirrors the season of winter, and if you can go with it, it can bring you much inspiration. And this winter in particular will be a time to begin to integrate our own transformations into our bodies and our lives.

I've been out of sorts for a little while and when I got my latest alert from whatsuponplanetearth.com, I read that we're in a sort of downtime phase of preparation. Reading these alerts always gives me confirmations and new understandings about what I'm experiencing. And then I can relax knowing what to expect (she has such accuracy!), which makes transitions much easier on me.

Since I read that alert and relaxed into what's happening, my healing gifts have begun a process of being enhanced again. How do I know this?

1. Since a few days ago, my hands have been giving off heat and healing energy constantly instead of just when I do a healing session

2. With my physical eyes (open), I'm now able to see orbs and the thick, pulsating, multidimensional field of life force surrounding us - it's hard to describe but I can see how nonphysical everything really is and how nothing is truly separate. I know that that's a paradox since quantum physics say that nothing is truly touching anything else, but it's the energy in between that connects us. It's like connective tissue that binds everything in the universe together.

3. Yesterday after I did a healing session, I got a healing of my own from Spirit. I could feel a surge of energy go through me from top to bottom and out through my feet.

4. I have a feeling I'm being worked on energetically.

5. I've also gotten the clear message that I am to begin giving readings soon as part of the work I do. I know I need further preparation and clarification before I do this but I sense that I'll be ready within a few weeks.

6. Another gift coming through is the ability to articulate what the wind and Spirit are telling me, and the visions I see, about what's happening in the universe, into a coherent description - like this blog today.

Right now is really a time to allow yourself to find your way back into alignment with your original purpose, and if you're already there, then it's time to integrate it more fully into your life. Many are feeling that urgency or a feeling of things being 'not quite right' and a need to know why. The thing is, we don't need to know the "why" or the "how".

It's funny... I've been hoping for the inspiration to write in this blog for about a week but nothing was coming to me. I was sort of frustrated about it but I knew it was to do with this time of preparation, so I just waited and trusted when the time is right, something will come.

Every time I remind myself that I don't need to know why or how things will happen or work out, and I consciously bring myself back into a feeling of gratitude or even just relief, miracles happen. And this Fall is going to bring plenty of miracles.

So get ready to celebrate!

What are you grateful for today?

It's a question I try to ask myself at least once a day. Usually I end up doing the asking when I get to a certain point just before the closest main street in my neighbourhood.

Well, here's my list for today...

I'm grateful that I just got pretty much a free website hosting upgrade right when I'm working on redesigning my website.

I'm grateful that I won a free marketing course for musicians recently. Through that course, I'm taking a good hard look at my fears and doubts, how I'm holding back, where I'm doing great, where I need to focus, etc. It's an eye-opening exercise to work on a 5 year vision!

Gee, I see a cool pattern. What else will the Universe gift to me?? What blessings! I'm going to intend that the Universe will give me a beautiful surprise tomorrow :)

I'm grateful that tomorrow I'm taking my daughter for back to school shopping.

I'm grateful for the healing I had today.

I'm grateful that I accomplished all I wanted to and more, today.

I'm grateful that now I'm going to bed after a long day, so that my body can adjust to the healing.

AWAKENING PART 2 - PRE-RECORDED GUIDED MEDITATION

Water Medicine

WOW!!! I was just sitting here typing and saw something in the sky from my window in front of me here in my home office. I could not believe my eyes! It was a Great Blue Heron soaring gracefully.

That's a first! I've seen them down by the water but only once been surprised by a visit, and that was on Thunder Mountain when my friend, my daughter and I were on our way to a very special lake up on the mountain. The heron was right in our path, confirming for me that it was good medicine, the ceremony we were about to do.

Today though, seeing that blue heron brings me back into the studio last night, with percussionist Derek Thorne and bass player Dennis Mohammed. Derek was using a beautiful set of congas. I asked him what the hide was on top and he said probably steer for one of them. But then he pointed to the other, and he said it was from a Water Buffalo.

If you know me personally, or you've come to a performance or workshop of mine, you'll know that water is very important to me. I have a song "Water From the Sky" that brings rain for healing, that I channeled instantly as I stood in the pouring rain on purpose to heal my headache just before I left for Thunder Mountain. I have another water song called "Crystal Clear" that will be on my next album and it also came instantly when I was performing at a spiritual gathering.

I always talk about being thankful for your water, how that feeling of gratitude can actually change the physical properties of the water, and even create healing water.

Well, last night when Derek was drumming his heart out on those congas, I felt tears of gratitude welling up in my eyes at the thought of having water medicine - that water buffalo spirit - on this album. And now this blue heron shows up. What are the odds that I'd be sitting here at my desk at the exact time that waterbird flew over my rooftop?

Nothing is a coincidence. And I can see a crystalline thread weaving together several occurrences, a sudden spontaneous chain of insights this afternoon that I felt driven to share with you here.

It also brings me back to think about how as soon as I left the studio yesterday to get us lunch, it began to rain and continued even as the sun shone the entire way to my destination. And that lead me to think about how we've had perhaps the most rain and thunder ever in a summer here in Toronto.

Do you see? Ever since I started to work on this CD after a5 month hiatus, I've been surrounded by water medicine. In the Anishnabe (Ojibwe) culture, the elders are always saying that water is the first medicine. During childbirth, the water comes first. At our full moon ceremonies, water is honoured.

We know water is a direct representation of the divine feminine principle. Water is about receptivity, flowing emotion, movement and giving birth. It's about finding clarity, being refreshed with new energy, allowing yourself to receive the blessings you give birth to - not just babies, but new desires, creations, manifesfations.

Right now I'm feeling overwhelming gratitude for the medicine of water, and I'm realizing that this CD called Medicine Song that I'm working on is going to be overflowing with water medicine. Even the location of the studio... right down by the waterfront. What a blessing.

Another insight occurs to me. Of course we would need more rain, more snow, more water right now. Mother Earth is in a healing and cleansing time. Water naturally moves energy. And we all need to be drinking more water as a result of these new energies flowing into and around our Mother Earth.

So this is what that great blue heron reminds me of today, and as I type this, I can see we are indeed going to get more water again today, as blue-grey clouds move together above me and the dance of the maple leaves shifts and changes every few moments.

Do you know what I'm going to say next?

Drink some water... but before you do, please feel gratitude in your heart and offer that gratitude to your water. And guess what? It has just started to rain.

Clarity is Coming

Greetings!

Today is a day of further clearing for me, after the intense energies of yesterday and the day before flooding my whole being with so much light. So I'm sitting here drinking cedar water to help me release whatever might come up. I encourage you to drink an abundance of water in the following week to help you move this energy through you.

I'm excited. Really excited. And yet I can't even bring to mind what I'm excited about... it's a feeling of anticipation. Whenever I feel like this, something really big and really good is about to happen.

And my mind is saying "What could possibly top the past 2 days?!?" Well, I'll get back to that...

Last night's 08/08/08 Awakening event was truly amazing. I had been feeling the energy cresting all week. I felt like I was in the middle of an expanding bubble that was about to burst and spread positive energy everywhere. I think instead of bursting, that bubble just kept on expanding all night. In my sleep, I kept having cold and hot flashes, which is - well it never happens, this is the first time!

Today - for me - that bubble burst. All day it's been thunderstorming. And I LOVE it. Rain and thunder are very healing when you have respect and gratitude for them. The rain and thunder together come to cleanse Mother Earth and release built up pressure... in the air but also in us. And yesterday was one big build-up of energy!

One of the last songs I sang last night was Water From the Sky, upon request. That song brings rain when I sing it in ceremony, so I sang it a bit different and intended for it to rain today and not last night. Who knows if that song was responsible for today's rain or not, but either way, I am grateful for it.

Preparing for 080808

I don't know about you, but when I take in and begin to generate high levels of positive energy, emotions can come up to be released. Have you ever laughed so hard you cried? Or felt so happy or proud that tears came up? Those are healing tears. In my preparation for 08/08/08 Awakening, I had been doing meditation and other activities to raise my frequency and release what I no longer needed. And I released a lot of healing tears.

On August 7th, I went for a massage and ended up getting a miraculous energy activation. When I saw light coming out of what appeared to be holes all over my body, space was being made for me to receive light of a higher frequency (see blog post of August 7, 2008), and to make my body a clearer channel for the song and other energy to flow through.

One of the things I was doing was reading high vibration material on the Internet. I had just been looking at my friend Kiernan's blog when she called me on the phone. We'd been emailing back and forth about similar spiritual experiences in relation to this new energy.

Ever since we met in relation to a mutual television appearance and event we both presented at in the spring, I've had a feeling of spiritual synergy between Kiernan and me. We've recently had conversations about possibly working together in some way. And last night that synergy was taken to a whole new level through our healing work.

When Kiernan said she'd be coming to the 08/08/08 Awakening event, I invited her to share if and how she felt moved to. When she arrived, we didn't even need words to communicate how charged the energy was - not that we could find the words anyway! We were just buzzing with positive energy.

How the event unfolded

The (spiritual) light and energy in the room were so intense that my eyes were almost watering. As Kiernan and I spoke it came clear how we would work together using our gifts.

My role was to do a global Back to Your Blueprint Energy Activation. That means doing a smudging ceremony, traditional Aboriginal welcome song, guided meditation and then channeling a Medicine Song as I connect to Source, my spirit, the universal energy field and the group. I usually do other energy work afterward with my hands and medicine rattle as well, but not this time.

When Kiernan suggested that she act as a conduit of light to do what she calls a Divine Blueprint Activation for the group and globally, I got chills and it just felt right for both of us.

As I read the meditation, I could feel the energy in the room changing from fizzy to a slow motion flow of energy and a sense of everything being in its place. Once the song came through me, I could feel the familiar connection and flow of energies. Kiernan flowed light through her as I sang, and then I led a grounding meditation. It was very moving.

I held a sharing circle afterwards and it was fascinating to hear some of the results of our work together, complemented by this new energy. One woman had been doing Reiki during the activation, someone got an instant connection back to her true purpose, another person had been feeling angry beforehand and now felt at peace, and one of the cafe staff said she had a sudden dizzy spell as she walked by me and a friend before we had even begun. A friend of mine in Manitoba called me to say she felt the connection when she did the meditation from her place.

The local event in Toronto had a great turnout and positive results, and I am excited to hear what some of you experienced globally! I almost forgot! What could top the last 2 days?

What's coming... clarity. It may feel for many of us like we're in a fog for a bit but soon our inner sun will be shining and our minds will be clear. And with clarity will come inspiration. When inspiration strikes, just remember to dive in!

Being Open Brings Amazing Gifts

August 7/08

I just got back from an incredible massage – well it was more, it was a healing and activation. A local Aboriginal shiatsu therapist worked on me using not just her shiatsu training, but traditional Aboriginal medicine. She’s very gifted. And the thunder and rain happened during my session, just to add to my healing.

In case you've never met me, I'm the one who stands outside in the middle of my street to get the most rain on me when it pours around here. The rain heals me! It takes away my headaches, but I have to stand in it to get the benefits. That's how my song Water From the Sky came to me. I was standing in the rain and suddenly I heard the words, started singing and there was the song. And that song actually brings rain when I sing it in ceremony.

Anyway... so I was blessed by the thunder and rain during my healing today.

But the amazing stuff…

I felt a blanket of white light that I know was a grandmother spirit, flowing over my body for quite a while, in different areas that the massage therapist wasn't working on. It was so obviously a spirit… I even checked for open windows afterward and there were none and yet, I could feel the coolness of a fresh breeze whenever I saw the white light in my mind’s eye, and I had the distinct intuitive impression of a grandmother - quite possibly the one who works with me ever since I went to Thunder Mountain.

I don’t know if it was her or one of the healer's spirit helpers, but I kept saying thank you in my mind. At one point, that grandmother or another spirit actually physically touched me – again, I checked to make sure it wasn’t the healer, but she had both her hands engaged in working with another area of my body.

After this, I saw my body with what looked like holes in it, emitting bright columns of light right out to the sky, and the colours I remember are sky blue (luminescent, like a blue aura), and I think magenta and green, and a few more colours I don't remember. I saw and sensed that they (whoever ‘they’ are it had something to do with a Lemurian crystal friend of mine) were putting something into those 'holes' in my body. It looked like clear crystals, soft-edged rectangular containers filled with light of the same colours as the light beams coming out of me. Wherever those holes were in my body, where the colourful lights were coming out of me, they were putting those light-filled crystals inside. I also had the sensations and image of more than one being working on some intricate parts of my energy system. It's hard to describe. I feel this may have been the massage therapist's helpers working on me.

And then they were done. And I was teary-eyed and filled with such love and appreciation.

I knew I was being prepared for 08/08/08. That grandmother was taking out what I needed to release, calming me and somehow balancing my energy. Every time I felt that cool sensation flow over my skin, my whole body relaxed and I felt like I was floating. And these lights inside me, I don't know what exactly that's about but I'm sure to find out soon. Something was given to me to help me do this energy activation tomorrow and perhaps to help me with my healing work from here on. I don’t know what it was exactly but it was amazing, and I know had I not been open and allowing it, I wouldn't have been able to receive these gifts.

And the thunder beings at one point, I could feel them come in and help too. I know their energy - they've appeared to me before. Maybe it was when I had a warm sensation on my back, but it was definitely when I was on my stomach and the sensation was to do with my back. And every time I would feel a certain sensation and wonder about who was helping me, the thunder would sound as if on cue. Glad I laid that tobacco offering down before I left today. With all the thunderstorms recently, I've been regularly putting down tobacco to ask for safe passage and thank the thunders and rain for my healing.

I could feel my energy changing and shifting throughout the entire session. At various points I felt dizzy and like I wasn’t even physically there, even though I could feel the physical sensations of the massage. It was very powerful, the whole experience. I feel so blessed. My physical body got a really intense healing and my energy system got a total makeover!

I'm still quite blown away by what's been happening to me since this spring and it keeps getting more and more intense. But as I welcome what feels right, and follow through on inspiration or when I am called to do something, my life keeps on getting more and more amazing. And I know being open is the key.

I'm excited and even mystified by what will happen at 8pm on 08/08/08. I have no idea how it will all unfold because I am staying very open to guidance through Spirit as I did today. All I can say is, it feels like a giant bubble expanding and expanding and when it bursts tomorrow, healing, high vibration energy will spread throughout the universal energy field for everyone to access for the highest good of each individual as well as the whole.

Inspiration is like Lightning

Inspiration is like lightning. It strikes quickly and powerfully, lights up your world and motivates you to take quick action.

I just wrote this quote after being inspired. A task I had to do turned into an inspiration and then turned into another inspiration to write this blog... it's a chain reaction and I love it!

I was invited to co-facilitate a workshop in November and had to send the organizer a bio and summary. I looked up my old workshop on Creating Confidence from Within, which was what they're interested in me presenting. After reading over a few files I had on my previous presentations on this subject, I started writing up a summary. I had a small inspiration about what I was putting together when I was struck with a sudden realization.

What I realized was that I had just found the doorway to an answer I needed that I had just asked my spirit helpers for a couple of days ago!

A couple of weeks ago, I was told by an elder I saw that I will be working with gifted children, and adults, but my first step would be teaching in the school system, for students 10-13 years old. That blew my mind because I had been doing just that recently, with great success, and I have had recent requests to get into what I really love to talk about with youth - how be your true self.

Anyway, back to this sudden realization... The elder had also told me I need to find a way to teach what I do. In my head, I was thinking "Are you nuts?" What a tall order! At the time, I didn't even know how to fully describe the healing work I do, let alone teach it! And it's not like someone taught it to me. It just came to me spontaneously. So I decided to ask my spirit helpers for the solution.

So just moments ago, as I was writing up the summary for this other workshop, I was suddenly flooded with the exact information I needed to start creating a teaching package to send to schools in the Fall... not only that but I was also shown how to teach what I know.

I am so blown away right now! This has come to me just like the songs do... spontaneously and in the form of pure energy. It's like the words are there, and some kind of communication I can't even describe. But I know I don't need to understand the communication or where it's coming from at the moment. I just have to write it down. As soon as my hands touch the keyboard and I look at what I've already written (it was almost like automatic writing), it will just flow.

Now this is what I'm talking about! When inspiration strikes, and you act on it right away, what comes out of that is amazing! It's like a chain reaction, like when you hear thunder and then you see a series of flashes of lightning that just lights up the whole sky and at the same time it lights up different parts of the Earth.

Inspiration lights up different parts of us... the brain, our spirit, our need and ability to self-express, and following that is an urge to take action. If we don't take action on that, we're missing a great opportunity. If we do take action, who knows how huge a chain reaction we will create?

Now I've got to get back to that teaching plan!
